I made my way through the Javits Center in NYC for the past two days of Vision Expo. Great new innovations and eyewear galore!
Of course I loved the technology. Even tried on a new version of Google Glass. Computer glasses (from Gunnar) were also the rage, as were sun readers and hand crafted acetate from Italy, France and Japan.
What I noticed was how many company are giving back. Helping those in need with glasses, medical care and optical supplies. There were quite a few companies who were passing it down to the next generation.
Family businesses were also "in vogue".
There were "green" companies with impressive designs.
Made in USA? There companies manufacturing in MA, CA, NY and PA!
I loved EyeDockers. Two women from Maine design and manufacture simple, elegant and extremely modern eyeglass holders.
As the days pass you will see some of my favorite eyewear.
